William Moore

He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War and received a grant of 2880 acres for his services. He was also a member of the Provincial Assembly of North Carolina and of the House of Representatives; his name appears on Muster Roll of Grantville, N.C., regiment, 1755. Attended Flat River Primitive church, Person county North Carolina where William Moore family lived. Abraham Moore and his family stayed here while Joseph Moore moved to Caswell county, Elizabeth Ewers went to West Virginia, William, the younger, Richard and Stephen went to Albemarle county Virginia.

A Georgia State Archives record shows that Rice Simpson enlisted in the 3rd Regiment (Few's) Georgia Militia, War of 1812 at Clarke County. He served six months stationed at Camp Covington.
